  • Rhoeo Pink (Tradescantia spathacea) is a stunningly coloured indoor or outdoor plant with green and white striped leaves with a pink underside. It makes a great accent piece in the garden or a stunning display mass planted. It's also great as a potted plant and will brighten up any indoor space.

Rhoeos grow well in freely draining organic soil in a sunny or partially shaded spot. They will tolerate short term colder temperatures as long as they are not too wet. The Tradescantia spathacea is drought tolerant once established but are not frost tolerant. They may cope with a light frost if dry.

Rhoeos have small, white flowers that bloom mostly in spring to summer, although they can flower all year. The flowers are encased in small boat-shaped bracts. It is the shape of the bracts that gave the plant its common names Boat Lily and Moses in the Cradle / Moses in a Boat.

Looking for a different colour Rhoeo? Have a look at the gorgous yellow-gold leaves of the Rhoeo Gold or the deep green and purple of the Dwarf Rhoeo.
