  • Parodia mueller-melchersii, formerly known as Parodia rutilans or Notocactus rutilans is a small, globose to shortly columnar cactus with gorgeous blooms in spring. It is an easy cactus to grow and makes a rewarding beginners plant with flowers appearing in the first year.

    It likes regular watering during the spring and summer growing season. Water sparingly in winter. It prefers a bright position that does not receive the full afternoon sun. It also prefers to be over-wintered under cover. Plant in a well draining cactus mix or compost with gravel or perlite added.
