DESCRIPTION

A medium to large cactus with large, showy, white to pale pink flowers on long stems. The pale pink flowers occur with hybridized varieties (such as this). Numerous flowers, appearing in spring to early autumn are nocturnal and can last for 1 to 3 days, depending on heat and humidity.

Echinopsis eyriesii is an easy to grow cactus and works well in pots or in the garden. It tolerates a moderate amount of water in the warmer months, but must be kept dry in winter. It is not frost tolerant, but can tolerate low temperatures if kept under cover and dry.

Plant in a well draining soil mix in a sunny location, protected from the hottest afternoon sun.
