DESCRIPTION

Known as the Peanut Cactus, named for the peanut shape of its offsets, has finger-like stems that can form crowded mats over time. It is a prolific bloomer, with showy red flowers in spring and summer.

Grow in a sunny position in well draining soil. It likes a cold spell in winter in order to produce its best flowers. Water moderately in the warmer months when dry and very little to none in winter. Frost tolerant if kept dry.
