DESCRIPTION

The Silver Ball Cactus is an easy to grow cactus with attractive white spines and very showy yellow flowers around the top of the stem in spring to summer.

Also known as Notocactus scopa var. albispinus, Parodia scopa subs. succinea f. albiseta is a selected variant of Parodia scopa subs. succinea with pure white spines instead of the usual yellow of the subspecies.

Parodia scopa grows well in a sunny position protected from the afternoon sun. It also does well in a bright indoor spot. Plant in a well draining soil mix and water moderately in the warmer months. Let the soil almost dry out between watering. Water sparingly in winter.

To encourage the best blooms, let the plant have a cold period in winter and lightly feed during the growing months.
