DESCRIPTION

Rhipsalis elliptica is an interesting cactus that has long, flattened stem segments that are elliptical shaped. The stems are green, but turn a deep copper colour in very bright light and when stressed. Flowers are small and white, blooming in winter to spring, followed by small pinkish berries.

Plant Rhipsalis elliptica in a rich organic mix with plenty of drainage, a commercial orchid mix works well, or make your own with a quality organic compost, mixed with perlite and some bark pieces. Rhipsalis elliptica grow best in filtered light, away from direct sunlight. Water when the soil is dry to touch. Do not overwater.
