DESCRIPTION

Slightly less vigorous than the green leaved Ficus pumila, it is a strong climber and will cover walls and fences easily. The Ficus pumila variegated variety adds a little more colour too, with the attractive white edges to its leaves.

Position the Creeping Fig in a sunny or partially shaded spot and ensure it is watered well until established. Once established, it will tolerate short periods of drought. Ficus pumila can also be grown indoors in indirect light and makes an attractive hanging basket plant.

When mature, the plant sends out side branches that are thicker and have larger leaves. To keep the Climbing Fig tidy and encourage the smaller leaf growth, prune or trim off these branches regularly.
